Chorale Française de Melbourne

Tickets here!
An evening of Christmas and other songs from the French speaking world. All funds raised at this event are donated to local charity DIVRS who make hampers to support local families at Christmas time.
Our debut album, BONJOUR, will be available to purchase at the event, featuring some of our best repertoire.

La La La was established in 1998 by Catrine Berlatier, who wanted to share the songs she sang in her native France with friends in her adopted country of Australia. The choir has grown and thrived since its humble origins decades ago. All singers are from a range of backgrounds, and share a love of the French world. Professionally directed by Paola Bastreri-Grey, we sing a largely a cappella repertoire. We became incorporated and a registered charity in 2024.

Our repertoire comes from all corners of the French speaking world, from circa 14th century to the present day. This allows us a tremendous range of different styles, from 20th century jazz to renaissance courtly love songs, from boozy drinking songs to gorgeous devotional prayers. From Fauré and Gounod, to wild warriors on the rampage, lovelorn youths, or country bumpkins being teased.

We rehearse at Fairfield Uniting Church every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.
To express interest or try out with the choir, please fill out our enquiry form here.

We can take gifts and donations. Anything above $2 is tax deductible. All contributions will be put towards promoting and teaching beautiful French and chamber music in the Melbourne community.

On July 26th released our debut album! This was a collaborative effort from our many members; from recording the music, to designing the album artwork, and translating the songs. We are beyond excited to showcase the brilliant repertoire we perform with La La La. This album is available to purchase at all future events, and is available on streaming platforms.
